Dear Colleague
Despite the global financial crisis, the information and communication
sector in Taiwan and China
is proving to be resilient, and an area of potential export growth.
The Australia-Taiwan ICT Cluster is a successful model of
collaboration between Australian and Taiwanese companies. Cluster members
and key Taiwanese business leaders with experience in Australia-Taiwan
collaboration held a meeting in Sydney
last week to explore business opportunities in eHealth, and how to take
advantage of them. The Cluster's first eHealth initiative, HealthTrack, is
hoping to announce a pilot project in Taiwan soon.
I encourage Australian companies to take advantage of the many
linkages the Cluster has already made with Taiwanese companies and
government organisations to develop relationships in Taiwan. These partnerships may
also provide access to the Chinese market, as Taiwanese companies manage
some 65 per cent of China's
ICT industry.
We are now broadening the scope of the Cluster, and are recruiting
new member companies within Australia
and Taiwan
who can provide additional capabilities in health IT, e-Health, and medical
devices and services. Among other initiatives, we are considering a trade
mission of Cluster members to Taiwan. I'm keen to hear from
any companies that may be interested in participating.
You can read more about all of our activities, and how you can
participate, in the newsletter below.
Please feel free to use any of this information in your own publications.
And if you don't want to receive these reports, please let me know and I'll
take you off the list.
Kind regards,
Lorraine
